RAVINA
is a Los Angeles/ Long Beach CA based spoken word artist, licensed therapist, and published poet. Ravina was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands and embraces her South Asian roots and first gen/ multicultural upbringing. YELLOW is her first collection of published poetry and prose published by World Stage Press in 2021 and recipient of the Long Beach Best Poetry Collection of 2021.
RAVINA has performed poetry on nationally and internationally acclaimed stages including the United Nations, and the House of Blues. Ravina is a touring and performing spoken word artist with the collective NeverSpeak Long Beach!. She is the founder of WAHLA (Writing As Healing Los Angeles) a workshop & mic, that honors the intersection of creative writing, mindfulness education and mental health. With a reach of hundreds of attendees, and being featured at the prestigious LA Get Down Festival; Ravina continues to host and curate WAHLA on a bimonthly basis in Los Angeles and beyond. RAVINA’s work as a poet has been featured in Diverse Verses LA's documentary "Brand New Day", Yahoo, Palms Up Academy’s Gold Standard Show 2024, the Sentinel Los Angeles, Long Beach Public Radio (KLBP 99.1 FM) SHOUTOUT Atlanta, Rooted Minds, and Livewire’s literary journal to name a few. Ravina is a Pushcart Prize nominee & recently made top 4 in slam poets ranking at the Ink Slam Invitational 2025at LA Get Down hosted by Da Poetry Lounge.
RAVINA uses writing as a tool for translating the heart, understanding identity, processing trauma, moving through experiences of struggle, empowerment, growth, joy and healing.
